This unique family event offers a rare access to some of the world's top flying machines and also WWII bombers and vintage aircrafts, as well as special military and law enforcement equipment and vehicles. See for yourself the F4F Wildcat, the TBF Avenger, the A6M Zero, the SBD Dauntless, and many more "Flying Museums" including the only remaining of their type, the Northrop N9M Flying Wing and the F3F Flying Barrel. Navy SEALs will show off their skills in addition to military re-enactors, paratroopers, and a mock battle with "Pyro."
The air show promises to be fun for the whole family with a special KidsZone area, amusements, rides and entertainment, as well as plenty of dining options and a Beer Festival for adults.
On Friday, May 31, kids will also be able to participate in a free youth Education Day and learn more about aviation-related science, technology and engineering. There will be no flying on that day, but still plenty of opportunities to inspire your student for a career in aviation.
The air show will take place on June 1 and 2, 2013 and gates open 9 am to 4 pm, at Gillespie Field in El Cajon.
