The Silk Road - Classics 4 Kids Family Concert 2014
About 5 year(s) ago by Best Western Seven Seas
From its inception, Classics 4 Kids has worked to stimulate area youth through great orchestral music. It began as a single concert for 600 sixth-graders in 1994, then grew into three concerts for 2,000 students the following year. Since then, the organization has grown to encompass around 20,000 children, allowing the program to educate area families and children through professional orchestra concerts and programs. At $12 per ticket, you and your child can join in for a special performance down Silk Road. Representing areas of Europe, Persia, Africa, and China, this world-music event includes artists from across the globe. Join the Classics Philharmonic, White Dragon Martial Arts, and more as they perform at the Balboa Theatre on February 23. Throughout its history, Classics 4 Kids has remained integral in the inspiration and education of San Diego's children. As opposed to focusing solely on entertainment or superficial relevance, each concert helps propel children's deep interests into some of the genre's greatest classical composers. Classics 4 Kids helps to open the minds and hearts of children, ultimately helping them to imagine their own undisputed potential, through its various programs. As an added bonus, the San Diego Museum of Art is scheduling free docent-led tours of their Asian Arts Collection. Including holdings from China, Japan, and Korean, this spectacular collection features icons from Buddhist shrines, Korean domestic arts, and Daoist works as well as hands-on opportunities for visitors. Attendees won't want to miss this special concert featuring art and music from all around the world.
