If you come during summer months, the low tides don’t often happen until the middle of the night. Another bonus of visiting in wintertime is that there will usually be a park ranger or volunteer on hand to not only answer any questions you might have but they can also point out tide pool life forms. There are a couple of parking options at the Point Loma tide pools. You can park for free outside the parking gate or you can pay a fee when you park at the visitor's center.
