It's not just about crossing that finish line - it's about completing one fantastic, staggering feat! When you're a part of the San Diego Half Marathon 2015, you're part of something bigger than yourself. Put a little spring in your step, and get training for a satisfying and awe-defying stunt: completing 13.1 miles in America's Finest City. From the spectacular and sparkling views of the Pacific Ocean to the celebrated landscaping of Balboa Park, this half marathon route is truly one of a kind, and can't be replicated in any other city. Where else can you get great views while going the distance? One of the most scenic courses in the country, the San Diego Half Marathon starts at Petco Park and winds through downtown San Diego - through the Harbor Drive and San Diego Bay - up through Liberty Station and Mission Hill. The final destination is the heart of the city, Balboa Park, where a finish line on 5th Avenue brings everyone home. But the celebrations don't finish there - keep the party going at the "Celebrate San Diego" Gaslamp Block Party that spans nine blocks within the Gaslamp District. After the race, meet up with friends for some food, shopping and fun that includes street entertainment, a Family Fun Zone complete with a rock wall and slides, the local farmer's market and special offers from a host of local brands. Cheer on your buddies as they cross the finish line and then head on down to the block party, with hours until 1pm. The San Diego Half Marathon is celebrating four years in an event that honors this original SoCal locale and the great local communities that keep it running. Not ready to take the challenge? The San Diego Half Marathon is in need of hundreds of volunteers!
