San Diego's beautiful Mission Bay is the site of the one of the most exciting water races in the country: the San Diego Crew Classic. Held over two days, April 5 and 6, this rowing regatta is a thrilling water race between more than 100 club, college and senior crews. Watch the eight-oared shells zip across the glassy water in a fast, ferocious battle of speed and strength. San Diego Crew Classic is a festive event, and you'll also find numerous trade show vendors, concessions and a beer garden. Races take place every 10 minutes or less, so there are always boats racing down the course for you to cheer on. Enjoy San Diego's perfect weather at this fun maritime competition. If you can't make the race over the weekend, consider visiting on Friday for pre-race practice. It's free to attend, and you can still see some of the action.
Tickets to this event cost only $12 and can be purchased in advance online via Eventbrite. The San Diego Crew Classic takes place at 3699 Crown Point Drive, and racing begins at 7:30AM each day.
